Have Your Say On All Things Clarion

Printer-friendly version

Have you ever wanted to have our say about which features should be in Clarion, or what SoftVelocity's priorities ought to be, or have you just wanted to make suggestions that other developers could read and possibly support?

Now you can, at Clarion.UserVoice.com.

Clarion.UserVoice.com (a.k.a. CUV) is not part of or endorsed by SoftVelocity. It's the brainchild of business/marketing guru Mark Riffey, and is one of the thousands of customer service sites provided by UserVoice.com, which provides tools to help companies listen to their customers. Mark has agreed to hand over the reins of CUV to Clarion Magazine.

So what can you do at CUV? Three things, really.

  1. Post suggestions. Is there something you think should be part of Clarion? Is there some future direction you'd like to see the product take? Is there an issue that needs to be fixed?
  2. Vote on suggestions.
  3. Comment on suggestions

Here are some of the suggestions currently posted at CUV:

  • Easy way to handle COM objects
  • IDE remembers state of the embed tree
  • C7's optional use of owner-drawn menus
  • Full Microsoft "certified for" support (no more old w95/98 API)
  • Deliver Clarion.Net Gold
  • A real debugger
  • Implement Clarion# Appgen inside Visual Studio

CUV is now a project of Clarion Magazine. While we can't absolutely guarantee that SoftVelocity will pay attention to what's posted on the site, we certainly will. And feel free to make suggestions about Clarion Magazine too!

UGhhhhh - Yet another website not endorsed by SoftVelocity talking about their products with little hope of them listening or even reading the site. I thought the purpose of the NGs where to 1) be endorsed by SV and 2) to be reviewed by SV 3) etc....

Can you sense the frustration level here :)

The nice thing about uservoice is the ranking and voting.  Not been done by other Clarion sites.

I've already started an account for one of my products.
